A Counterexample to Theorems of Cox and Fine

Cox s well known theorem justifying the use of probability is shown not to hold in nite domains The counterexample also suggests that Cox s assumptions are insu cient to prove the result even in in nite domains The same counterexample is used to disprove a result of Fine on comparative conditional probability

On existence and uniqueness of solutions of a nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integral equation

In this paper we investigate the existence and uniqueness for Volterra-Fredholm type integral equations and extension of this type of integral equations. The result is obtained by using the  coupled fixed point theorems in the framework of Banach space $ X=C([a,b],mathbb{R})$. Finally, we  give an example to illustrate the applications of our results.

Celecoxib Treatment Alters p53 and MDM2 Expression via COX-2 Crosstalk in A549 Cells

Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) has a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of the lung cancer. It is known that COX-2 negatively regulates the activity of a number of tumor suppressors, including p53. Consequently, inhibition of COX-2 signaling is anticipated to be a promising approach to stabilize p53 functionality. In this regard, we investigated the effect of COX-2 signaling blockade on p53 and COX-2 e...
